I am Erik. I grew up in California. Hip hop, wine country, and studded horse farms. Not the obvious origin story for a brand designer who ended up in Texas.

I tried architecture first. Then business. Then someone reminded me I'd been drawing robots and obsessing over beautiful advertising since I was a kid. So I majored in art and design. The calling was there the whole time.

Fifteen years inside B2B marketing teams taught me one repeating pattern. Most brands don't have a recognition problem. They have a tolerance problem. So focused on data and efficiency that they forget people respond to beauty, story, and a little magic. So they make their marketing logical. You can't win that way.

That's why I build Signal Systems. Campaigns and content with helps lower the cost of attention and relevance, build trust during decisions and speed to execution. Because demand gen without desire is just noise with a budget.

Currently Creative Director and Brand Designer at Audiense in Fort Worth. TX, integrated into Buxton and Elevar. In the past various high-end agencies and brand studios. Outside of work, I help a small number of clients move from marketing logic to marketing emotion.

I also tinker, draw, take care of my family, and test startup ideas. Zero for two, but the third one's called Zentara.
